What kind of carpet can I use on stairs?
Most carpets are suitable for stairs but we would recommend something hardwearing, such as a woven carpet, because stairs will see a lot of foot-traffic. Also, we would advise against using seagrass on stairs as it is a smooth, low-friction material which can cause slips and trips. There are also additional concerns when fitting carpet on stairs, described below.
