Can I use bleach on my carpet?

Most carpets composed of man-made fibres (polypropylene) are bleach cleanable; however, bleach shouldn’t be used on wool or nylon - also, it should be avoided on any dark or rich-coloured carpets as it is likely to lighten or remove the colour. There are other methods of cleaning carpets below.
